Spring into Relaxation
Thursday, April 10th @ 6PM-9PM, Noyes Community Center (located on West Campus)

It's that time of year again! With finals inching closer, it's important to let some of that built-up stress go.
After the immensely successful "Fall into Relaxation" event last semester, we have decided to help stressed students once again.
Stop by, grab some snacks, get a massage, and relax!

Asian American Defense and Education Fund
Posted on September 19, 2007

A few months ago, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) released our report, The Asian American Vote in the 2006 Midterm Elections. The report includes detailed findings from a multilingual exit poll of more than 4,700 Asian American voters in 23 cities in nine states in November 2006. It was the largest nonpartisan survey of its kind in the nation. You can download a copy at: http://www.aaldef.org/docs/AALDEF2006ExitPollReportMay2007.pdf

The report includes comparative information in the following areas:
-Vote in US Senate races
-Party enrollment and voting history
-Voter priorities for the 2008 Presidential Elections
-Opinions about immigration reform
-Ethnicity and national origin
-Citizenship tenure (duration)
-English proficiency levels
-Improper ID demands / voting barriers

AALDEF's multilingual exit polls reveal vital information about Asian American voting patterns that are often overlooked in mainstream voter surveys. AALDEF has conducted exit polls of Asian American voters in every major election since 1988. Nearly 11,000 Asian American voters in eight states and 3,000 in four states were surveyed in the 2004 and 2002 exit polls, respectively.

More than 30 community groups and organizations joined AALDEF to mobilize 600 attorneys, law students, and volunteers to conduct the exit poll and to safeguard the voting rights of Asian Americans.
