Cornell vs. Christiansen
35-person chess simultaneous exhibition and lecture
3-time US Chess Champion GM Christiansen will be playing against you and 34 other people all at the same time!
Date: Sunday, April 9th, 2006
Time: 11:00am for the free 30 min. lecture and Q&A
12:00pm for the 35-person simul
Location: Robert Purcell TV Lounge (1st floor) on North Campus
Fee: $10 to play against GM Christiansen in the simul (limit 35),
Lecture is FREE

3-time US Chess Champion and Grandmaster Larry Christiansen will give a 30 min. lecture and Q&A session,
and then he will play against 35 members of the Cornell community simultaneously.
All members of the Cornell community are welcome to join us for both the lecture
and the simultaneous exhibition (limit 35 people to play).
Funded in full (Funded in part) by the Student Activity Fee.
Open to the Cornell Community.

Congratulations to the winners of the chess tournament on Saturday, September 10th and also to all of those who played.
The tournament was a big success with about 30 people showing up to play for 5 rounds of chess.
Everyone enjoyed the tournament and the Chess Club will definitely be hosting more tournaments
in the future.
The winners of this tournament are:
1st place overall: Leonid Meyerguz
2nd place overall: Matthias Kormaksson
Top unrated player (also tied for 2nd overall): Pavel Gyrya
Top freshman (also tied for 2nd overall): Jeff Dimiduk
