What is CMUNC?
The Cornell Model United Nations Conference (CMUNC for short) is a learning conference hosted each spring by CIAS that attracts over 600 high school students from countries all over the world (including the US, Canada, Hong Kong, and South Africa, to name a few).
**You can find out more about the conference at the conference website: http://www.cmunc.net/
Why should I participate?
As CMUNC is hosted by CIAS, it is dependent upon the volunteer efforts of the CIAS community. Although volunteering at CMUNC will guarantee you a busy four-day weekend - it's worth it: encouraging international awareness amongst high school students and seeing them learn about the workings of the UN (and other similar bodies) is eyeopening and rewarding, and helping out can earn you community service hours, should you need them. CMUNC is a great chance to make a difference in the lives of high school students. Plus, it's your chance to have a Model UN conference experience without having to travel any further than the Engineering Quad!
How can I get involved?
At the beginning of the fall semester, staff applications (for positions ranging from chairs to crisis staffers) will be available to all CIAS members. Other volunteer positions are available closer to the date and may require only a small committment during the conference.
