Conference Information

Below are the conferences CIAS plans to attend during the 2010-2011 academic year. However, we are always considering going to other conferences, so if you have any comments recommendations, feel free to let us know.

Security Council Simulation at Yale ("SCSY")

New Haven, CT ( Thurs, Oct 7 - Sat, Oct 14, 2010)

The Security Council Simulation at Yale (SCSY) is a conference at the end of October at Yale University which is comprised of primarily small crisis committees.

National Collegiate Security Conference ("NCSC")

Georgetown, Washington D.C. (Thurs, Oct. 28 - Sun., Oct. 31, 2010)

The National Collegiate Security Conference ("NCSC") is a moderate sized conference held in Washington, DC by Georgetown University and mainly consists of crisis and specialized committees.

University of Pennsylvania Model UN Conference ('UPMUNC")

Philadelphia, PA (Thur, Nov. 11 - Sun, Nov 14, 2010)

The University of Pennsylvania's Model United Nations Conference (UPMUNC) is a large conference with a wide range of committees. Because UPMUNC is the first large conference the team attends after the fall training sessions, CIAS typically sends its newly trained members (in addition to some experienced members) to UPMUNC to build up their college Model UN experience.

McGill Model United Nations Assembly ("McMUN")

Montreal, Quebec (Thur, Jan 27 - Sun, Jan 30, 2011)

The McGill Model United Nations Assembly (McMUN) hosted by McGill University in Montreal, Canada is a CIAS favorite. With a wide variety of quality committees, McMUN is an excellent conference for anyone and Montreal is a wonderful city. Just remember to get your passport/visa well in advance to avoid any problems at the border.

Pennsylvania United Nations Conference ("PUNC")

University Park, PA (Thur, Feb. 24 - Sun, Feb. 27, 2011)

The Pennsylvania State United Nations Conference (PUNC) is a small conference, mainly consisting of crisis committees, hosted just a few hours away from Cornell by Penn State. CIAS sent their first delegation in Spring '09.
