How to Donate to Cover Africa
If you would like to make a contribution, there are a number of ways you can help out.
Bed Nets for Humjibre
We are fund raising for bed nets and re-treatment tablets to bring with us to Ghana. Bed nets cost about $5 and tablets cost about 50 cents. Contributions, however small make a difference. We hope to buy 400 bed nets and 200 tablets- we will be purchasing this upon our arrival in Ghana (to support local economy).
Bed Nets
We are fund raising for bed nets for other communities in Africa beyond the reach of our Service-Learning trip.
Student Scholarship for Travel
The flight to Ghana is extremely expensive. Students were accepted to our project on a need-blind basis. As a result, many of the students who are participating are at Cornell on scholarships and have limited means to pay for the trip. We are looking to help fund these students.
The Village of Humjibre
We are fund raising for the community we will be working in. Each student must raise $1000 for GHEI to stay in the village and contribute to other health and education initiatives. This money goes to health education programs, such as our malaria education outreach, scholarships for secondary school, to the library, for de-worming tablets, for HIV awareness, for family planning and other community projects. If you would like to specifically contribute to the village in this way, checks can be made out to: "IFMSA-USA" and in the note line it must say "For Ghana Project."
Donations can be made to the Cornell Student Organization General gift fund (#426926). Any gift correspondence or checks should be labeled "Cover Africa," and you can specify how you would like your donation to be used. Checks can be sent to Cover Africa at:
