Cornell Productions is an entirely student-run sound reinforcement and lighting company located at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. We have provided the Cornell community with sound and lighting services since the mid-1970's. While Cornell Productions is advised by the Office of the Dean of Students and the Student Activities Office, we are a self-sufficient production company.
In addition to providing professional sound and lighting services to the Cornell community, we strive to provide experience in live sound reinforcement, stage and event lighting, event management, and business management to Cornell students. If you are interested in joining Cornell Productions, visit the Employment page for more information. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at productions@cornell.edu and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Jennifer is a junior Nutritional Sciences major in the College of Human Ecology from Rockville, Maryland. She started
working for Cornell Productions at the encouragement of an old roommate and now finds herself addicted to working for CP. She
loves designing lights and can't wait for HEC when she can spend the better part of 72 hours running around Statler with a
cartload of lighting equipment and making everything look pretty.
Iona is a senior studying psychology, biology, and music. She started working for CP as a freshman and has since become the
clients manager. In addition to running sound systems and setting up ambient lighting, she also works extensively with Cornell
Concert Commission and has served on the executive board there as well. In her opinion, there is nothing like sitting in a large
empty room with a full sound system blasting electronica.
John is a sophomore studying Information Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. He started working with sound systems in
high school during the production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". In his freshman year, he started working
for CP and quickly found that he enjoyed the production side of live shows. In addition to CP, John is involved in Cornell Concert
Commission and Cornell University Program Board. Even though he likes setting up lights, his favorite CP moments are being behind
the soundboard during loud dance events.
Yi is a sophomore majoring in Operations Research in the College of Engineering.
She learned music technology in high school and loved it, which is why she started working for CP as a freshman.
She soon found light designing equally interesting as sound operations. She enjoys putting lights on and make
an event look great, so she’s looking forward to HEC in the spring. She likes everything about Cornell
Productions.
