Dan Bakkedahl to Speak at Cornell

Dan Bakkedahl, the Daily Show Correspondent, will come to Cornell on March 12 at 6:30 in the Statler Auditorium to speak about being on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, how it was to replace Stephen Colbert on the show, and the 2008 presidential election. Doors open at 6pm. This event is open and free to the public.

Dan Bakkedahl was born in 1969 and attended Florida State University. He is hailed as an improviser, actor and teacher from Chicago, where he made a name for himself at the Improv Olympic performing in 4 Square, Train Wreck, and the two man show ZUMPF. He wrote and performed "Doors Open on the Right," The Second City's 90th revue. In September of 2005 Bakkedahl filed his first report on The Daily Show.

The Cornell democrats are able to bring Dan Bakkedahl to Cornell with the help of The Cornell Progressive, The Alice Cook House, The Cornell Political Coalition, The Cornell University Programming Board, The Near Eastern Studies Department, The Bartels Family, The Government Department, The Bully Pulpit, The Society for the Humanities, The Office of the Vice President for Student and Academic Services, The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.

The ACLU and Basketball

Get your basketball shoes on and come down to the _____ gym on Wednesday, the 26th, (first Wednesday after break) for fun and games. The Cornell Democrats will be holding their meeting there alon with the ACLU as guests.

Relay For Life

The Cornell Democrats will be participating in the Relay for Life, a fundraising effort to support cancer research and cancer survivors. It is held every year in March in thousands of locations all over the country. At Cornell, it will be held in Barton Hall. The event lasts from 7pm on Thursday, March27, all through the night to 8am Friday the 28th.
