Let’s Get this Year Started: CFA Style!

Hi Everyone!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jackie Perez, President of the Cornell Filipino Association 2007-2008. I’m incredibly excited for the coming year! Why am I excited?! Let me count the ways….
Reason #1: The New Faces!
I’ve had such a blast with each one of the freshmen and transfers! From the first general body where you came out in full force to the dinners we’ve had together, I could feel that your class is going to bring something special and unique to the table! Keep that energy high!
Reason #2: E-board
This year’s Executive Board is one for the record books. Consisting of students whose majors range from Engineering to Hotel Administration, this year’s board is not only one of the brightest, but probably one of the youngest! But don’t be fooled by their ages and angelic faces because these people that I’m working with are no joke—they mean business; they are here to do whatever it takes to make your experience in CFA as enjoyable and worthwhile as best they can! See what kind of surprises they can offer you!
3. Top Secret…shhh…Events
Your young, energetic (and did I mention incredibly fun?!?!) E-board is already in the process of planning a lot of great events for YOU! This year’s Kamayan Queen, Ms. Christine Ramos, is cooking up something special in the kitchen for the Fall. It’s going to be a “fiesta” that this “barrio” is sure to enjoy 
Are you suddenly intrigued?! Do you want to learn more about it?! For now, I’ll tease you by providing little information about the event. But definitely keep your eyes and ears open because there’s more information to be given out in the next few weeks!
4. Family Away from Home
The semester is sure to be in high-gear at this point. There will be times when you’re missing your friends and family back home. But keep in mind the people that you’ve got here. As I’ve already expressed, I’m incredibly happy about the new editions to CFA this year! I’m also glad to have seen many of our “kapamilya” back during the Welcome Picnic! I don’t know about you, but it sure feels good to be re-united with my CFA family!
Of course, there are reasons 5, 6, 7…etc., but I’m going to spare you the pain of reading an incredibly long message (and also spare myself from writing a novella). For now, I want to leave you with the assurance that CFA is in great hands this year, especially that YOU (yes, you the person reading at this very instant!) are a part of our family. I’m excited for the coming year, and I hope that you are too!
