Aside from walking, you have a couple of options.

  • Bus: TCAT's route 12 goes by on East Avenue near the north entrance of Goldwin Smith Hall. It passes by at about 43 past the hour every hour from 7:43 PM until 1:43 AM, but you'll have to flag down the bus driver as it isn't really a scheduled stop. Any route that goes down East Avenue from University Avenue should work as well.
  • Car: You can park in the Sibley "Y" lot on University Avenue after 5 PM without a permit. (Note that the lot right next to the Sibley lot, behind Tjaden, is not free after 5 PM. There's a sign letting you know that you can't park there at night.) You can also park in the "slope lot" (Central Avenue) past the Art Museum after 5 PM without a permit, but that's the lot used by Uris and Olin library patrons, so finding a space there may be problematic.

Due to detouring from insane amounts of campus construction, buses aren't really an option. So, you can walk, or you can try to find parking...

  • Car: The Sibley "Y" lot is closed, possibly forever, due to the construction of Milstein Hall. You can park in the "slope lot" (Central Avenue) past the Art Museum after 5 PM without a permit, but that's the lot used by Uris and Olin library patrons, so finding a space there may be problematic during the school year unless you show up early. Other options include the Risley lot across the bridge, or the parking garage on Campus Road if there isn't a hockey game. This sucks, we know.

The bus directions are still valid, and Sibley is probably still your best bet for parking due to campus construction. Notably, the Bailey Hall parking lot has been totally and permanently removed in a questionable decision to turn that area into a pedestrian walkway. There are some spaces available behind Clark Hall, but be aware of the posted signs in that area as many spaces (such as the Space Sciences lot) are not for general use until 10 PM.

We don't officially provide food at the meetings. You're welcome to bring whatever you'd like to eat or drink, with the exception of alcohol, which is prohibited by University policy. Any delivery establishment that delivers to campus should be able to find Rockefeller Goldwin Smith as well. There are vending machines located in the Clark Hall basement, one level down and almost directly below our group of rooms in Rockefeller. in the Goldwin Smith basement, on the south (far) end of the building. Keep in mind that we're using classrooms, so you'll need to clean up after yourself.

When does the Games Club meet?

We meet every Friday evening, even when classes aren't in session, starting at 7 PM. There will occasionally be a week where we don't have any rooms, for instance if another organization reserves every classroom on campus at the same time. Assuming the other organizations are kind enough to let us know of this in advance, you'll know as well through the mailing list.
