We occasionally play a pickup game of ultimate frisbee (or other games). This is a friendly group. No skill is required. Bring a friend. Cleats are a plus if you have them. I hope to see you sometime.
If you would like to receive more e-mails about pickup sports, drop me a note.
As many of you know, I like to run road races to stay active and sane! For the last several semesters, I've coordinated an informal running group that meets a couple of times a week for group runs. Because I like running with others, and meeting new people, I am extending an invitation to you to join me in these weekly runs. I try to send out a weekly e-mail reminder (usually on Sunday or Monday) of the schedule meeting time/location for the week. We usually meet around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the steps in front of Fernow Hall, and head out toward the East Hill Rec Way, North Campus, or the Cornell Golf Course. Runs range from 40 -60 minutes, which might be 4-6 miles each time. There's also the option to join in for all or part of a long run on the weekend somewhere around Ithaca. Our pace is generally between 9 - 10 minutes per mile, but that too depends on who shows up and the condition of the route we run.
Basically, if you're interested in some social running a couple of times a week, send me an e-mail and I'll add you to my weekly reminders. Please feel free to share this announcement with others.
Pastor Felker of Christ Chapel offered a Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudam book study several years ago and it was a great opportunity to openly discuss the foundational aspects of our faith. He is offering it again and I hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity. Take a prayer walk! Each week we'll have a particular need we focus on. We'll take ~20 minutes to pray and walk on our own, then regroup to reflect and pray together to close. You'll be back to your day in about half an hour. Ask Jen for details.
