Because we are a fellowship of Graduate students, we are creating a venue for strong spiritual friendships to occur. As Christians, we are called to fellowship with each other. As academics, it takes a concerted effort to know each other deeply.
A noted commitment and desire to strengthen our bond with CICF while keeping our individual identities. (CICF reaffirmed this commitment as well)
There is interest to connect with the undergraduate fellowships.
We also discussed connections to area churches.
We have good diversity in church background. In the last few years, we have been becoming more diverse academically. However, we need to foster this growth and make sure we appropriately feed these different groups. We also have to address some burn out among the social drivers.
We affirm our history and traditions, but acknowledge that we should not lock ourselves into our current structure, since as GCF changes we adapt to utilizing the gifts, talents, and passions of the current group.
We want to do a few things really well rather than have lots of things done poorly (or not as well). This is accomplished by a unified vision and direction for the group. Also noted here is a unified goal helps reduce burn out.
