We believe that improving education in rural China is the best way to empower the next generation to break out of the cycle of poverty.
In rural China, where millions of people are stuck in cycles of poverty, we invest in education, the most sustainable way for the next generation to not only improve their lives but have the knowledge and skills to help strengthen their own communities. By focusing on primary education, we seek to provide children the opportunities to gain a comparable educational basis as children in more affluent, urban areas, so they do not fall behind at an early age. We invest in the education of young students so they can emerge as educated leaders of the future.
By allowing Cornell students to actively engage in improving rural education, we seek to instill values of service and giving throughout the Cornell community. We hope Cornell students will use their education and talents to give back on a local and international scale.
