"Come, whoever you are, come..." RUMI
MEVLANA JALALUDDIN RUMI

“Rumi” was a 13th century philosopher and mystic of Islam who lived in modern day Turkey. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. His message is one of no boundaries. Rumi said: "I am neither of the East or the West, no boundaries exist in my breast."

To him and to his disciples all religions are more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds. As the name “Rumi” represents, the purpose of the Association is to promote dialogue and understanding between different religions and Islam, to bring together people interested in Turkish Islamic culture and spirituality, organize educational events for the Cornell Community on Islamic Spirituality in general and its effects on Turkish Culture particularly through the sponsorship, organization and presentation of various events.
